You should be able to use it to sketch ideas, to write down story outlines, or to mark camera movements. Although at first it seems to be an application for kids, it isn't. In my opinion this application is a quite good replacement for a pencil and a piece of paper. When I first started the program, my first impression was that it resembles an animation software. The new storyboards that you create contain one or more frames. Each frame can be edited, using an interface which resembles Window Paint. However, the frame editor supports frames and layers. This is an extra feature which comes in handy when drawing. Also, you can add a kind of cliparts to any frame. Three of these cliparts are arrows, while the fourth depicts two linked rectangles. The two rectangles are supposed to indicate a zoom or reframe. It's possible to import images into the program and use them as frames. You can save the finished storyboard using the File - Save menu. Pluses: The program also supports exporting the animation using formats like AVI, animated GIF, sequential BMP, sequential JPG, or TGA. As predicted, the flood of new tweaks has started to pour in. The latest tweak, one called HiddenSettings7, allows users to access Apple’s hidden internal SpringBoard settings menu. This menu, which contains a plethora of settings to garner fine grained control over the look and feel of your device’s SpringBoard, is accessible via a shortcut found in Control Center. When exporting, you can set the resolution, the color depth, and the file numbering (where applicable). Drawbacks / flaws: In conclusion: I don't recommend throwing the old-school tools for creating a storyboard yet, but you just might after trying this program. Version reviewed: 0.94 Springboard Publisher's Description. Over at, Dave Hamilton told of an iPod touch whose SpringBoard would repeatedly crash. (SpringBoard is the iOS equivalent of the Finder.) After trying a number of troubleshooting procedures, he narrowed it down to an iCloud issue, where corrupt data was causing the crash. Hamilton found info in crash logs indications of what was causing the crash. He eventually deleted a folder on the Mac that was linked to the iPod (com~apple~TextInput) and this resolved the issue. ICloud has been, for me, a common source of dismay. I've not found it to be reliable enough to entrust any important data to it - though for some data, such as contacts and calendars, you have no choice. I've had to go through complicated procedures to reset different types of iCloud data several times to resolve syncing issues. This crashing problem is just another of the issues that iCloud can be responsible for. Though for some data, such as contacts and calendars, you have no choice Apple calls it iCloud but contacts sync using cardDAV and calendars sync using calDAV. Both protocols are more mature and reliable than iCloud document sync or core data. You also do have a choice- you can turn off 'iCloud' syncing and turn on syncing in the calendar and contacts setting and have it use different DAV servers or an exchange server. I sync my calendar with Google but I find Google pollutes your contacts with email contacts you would never want on your phone. I totally agree, Kirk. I use Pages on my Mac and on my iPad. I really want to be able to edit documents on both -- I want to work on my Mac, then grab my iPad and edit there instantly. Mountain Climbing Simulator is a mix of an arcade title and a simulator developed by dev4play. The game was released for PC by Fat Dog Games, a studio that supports independent developers. As can be gathered from the title, Mountain Climbing Simulator is a game about climbing in the mountains. The action is seen from a first person perspective. The first problem I had was knowing if and when documents synced. Sometimes it would take a minute or two -- I'd open Pages, and 60 seconds later I'd see the 'updating' animation appear. Unlike DropBox there's no status symbol alongside documents so I had no idea IF a doc had synced apart from guessing at the date. Sometimes I messed up and began editing a document before the sync happened. Then Pages would complain I had two versions of the document. One thing Pages can't do is compare docs! So I had to save both the docs to my Mac's hard disk and use Microsoft Word to compare them.
